Privacy policy

Updated 24 October 2026

The short version
  • Browsing Agora needs no account and no personal details.
  • Your location never leaves your phone. We use it only to sort nearby Masses and events.
  • We keep your birth year, never your full date of birth.
  • No ads, no selling your information, no tracking you across other apps.
  • You can delete your account and everything linked to it from the You tab, any time.

Who we are

Agora is a free app for finding Catholic Masses, parishes and events, run by Roni Haddad in Melbourne, Australia. This policy explains what information Agora collects, why, and what you can do about it. We follow the Australian Privacy Principles.

Browsing without an account

You can browse churches, Mass times, events and posts without signing up. We don’t ask who you are. Agora saves a copy of the church data on your phone so it opens quickly.

Your location

If you allow it, Agora uses your phone’s location to show the nearest Masses, churches and events. Your location stays on your phone: it is never sent to us or stored on our servers. If you choose a suburb instead, that choice is also kept only on your phone.

If you create an account

Accounts are for people aged 16 and over. When you sign up we collect your name (shown with your comments), your email address (to sign in and for account emails) and your date of birth, which we use once to check you are 16 or over. We keep only your birth year. Your password is stored scrambled (hashed), so nobody can read it, including us.

What you do in Agora

When you are signed in we save the pages you follow, posts you like, things you save, events you RSVP to, comments you write, reports you send and people you block, so they are there on any phone you sign in on. Comments are public, with your name. Like and RSVP counts are public; the names of people going to an event are shown only to that event’s organisers. Who you follow, what you save and who you block are private to you.

Parishes and groups

If you ask to help look after a parish page or add a group, we collect your role and the contact details you give, so we can check the request. Approved helpers can post photos, videos, events and Mass times on that page; that content is public.

Church information

Church names, addresses and Mass times come from parish and diocese websites and OpenStreetMap, or from the parishes themselves. If something is wrong, tap “Report a wrong time” on the parish page.

Where your information is kept

Agora’s database and photos are stored with Supabase in Sydney, Australia. Supabase also sends our account emails. We don’t sell your information, show ads, or share it with anyone else, unless the law requires us to.

Keeping Agora safe

Anyone signed in can report a comment, post or event, and block another member. The Agora team reviews reports and can hide content or remove accounts that break the rules.

Deleting your account

Go to You → Delete account. This removes your account, follows, likes, saves, RSVPs, comments and blocks. Posts made on behalf of a parish or group stay with that page.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top and tell you in the app if the change is important. Questions or requests about your information: use Help & feedback in the app, or email [email protected].
